This semester, J. Blue is rolling out a new role dedicated to internal promotions. New member Alyssa Okamura is the brains behind this role. She will be tasked with advertising the amazing opportunities associated with J. Blue while simultaneously drawing in new clients and potential agency personnel.
Alyssa Okamura is the creative media director on our team. Alyssa’s strengths lie in graphic design, video editing, and content creation. She showcases these skills through a variety of different experiences, many of which are at Creighton. Alyssa is a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Marketing Committee. She designs t-shirts, directs the marketing campaign, and creates graphics for AKPsi. In addition, Alyssa is the Tri Delta Director of PR and Marketing. Similar to her role in AKPsi, Alyssa designs graphics, takes pictures, and runs social media accounts for her sorority. If that was not impressive enough, she also is the Creighton Luau PR and Ticket Sales Co-Chair and AKPsi’s Vice President of External Communications.
Outside of Creighton, Alyssa held a marketing internship at KTA Super Stores this summer. She managed the store's TikTok, growing its following from 50 to 800 followers in only one month. Furthermore, Alyssa designed graphics for pharmacy programs and worked with the COVID-19 task force to create safety videos as well as other content for employees and customers.
When asked what she is looking forward to this semester at J. Blue, Alyssa responded, “I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in the practicum.
